I still look at photos my grandmother saved from her childhood in Italy. Her parents. Her siblings. All young and full of life. It’s the only way I get to know them — through images. She saved everything from my mother’s childhood too. Watching my aunts and uncles grow up through photographs feels like stepping into chapters I never lived myself.
